Keynote Speakers

Peter Coroneos

Twice invited to the White House to brief Obama Administration cybersecurity leadership, Peter Coroneos is an internationally recognised internet industry leader, activist, policy innovator and cyber governance expert. He is an internationally recognised authority on cyber policy and was recently appointed Regional Head, Asia Pacific for the Paris based Cybersecurity Advisors Network. Detailing his journey from taking the lead of the internet industry in Australia when the future of the internet was by no means certain, to describing how he created a groundbreaking cyber security initiative which protects tens of millions of internet users, Peter’s presentations captivate audiences whilst providing a rare insight into the internet industry. As well as sharing his lessons from years of internet leadership and detailing vulnerabilities that each of us face each time we log onto the web, Peter also speaks on ‘mind optimisation’, a four-decade meditation practice to which he attributes most of his career success.

Nick Abrahams

Nick is a regular speaker on innovation & disruption, sharing his views as a practical futurist – looking at the impact on organisations of technology over the next 3-5 years, not 30 years. He has disrupted the legal profession and has worked with more than 50 disrupters and established companies seeking to innovate as a result of potential disruption. Having been a professional standup comic, he is also a popular choice as an emcee for large events.

Nick is deeply involved in the Australian technology, media and telecommunications (TMT) sector as a lawyer, author, non-executive director, angel investor, speaker and entrepreneur. He recently released the book Digital Disruption in Australia: A guide for entrepreneurs, investors and corporates. The book went to No. 1 on the Kindle Business Best Seller List in Australia and the USA. It is the only book that looks at the impact of disruption specifically in Australia. Nick analyses 550 Australian M&A/investment & IPO transactions over the last 5 years and identifies where there is clustering of transactions around disruptive themes. All royalties from the book go to Alzheimer’s Australia.

He led a large global restructure that reinstated the company’s financial health and strengthened its ability to manage future disruption. Gus remains heavily involved with the startup scene around the world as a founder, investor and advisor and is the Entrepreneur in Residence at Victoria University. Let Gus take you behind the scenes of the massive digital transformation that has affected all industries in the past two decades. Gus shares the stories of how so many companies mishandled this change and how today’s business leaders can capitalise of the disruption that is still occurring today. Gus is a captivating speaker, with a great ability to take your audience on a journey that is both entertaining and deeply thought-provoking. His common sense will disarm you and his high-energy will prepare your team to take on the world!

Steve Sammartino

Steve Sammartino is a ‘business technologist’ who will blow your mind with his keynote. Uniquely combining anthropology and technology, Steve demystifies the rapidly changing rules of business. Extreme projects are something Steve loves doing, in order to demonstrate what is possible today. He knows how to generate attention in the modern age of marketing with a number of his viral videos to his name. He recently built a full size driveable Lego car from 500,000 pieces. It has an engine made completely from Lego, and it runs on air. He also crowd funded the project on Twitter. It has over 8 million views on Youtube and was a global news story. He also put a toy space ship into earth orbit for under $2000 to prove how cheap powerful technology has become. His debut book, The Great Fragmentation is a technology strategy manifesto for the modern age. It has been translated into multiple languages and has received rave reviews from some of the world’s leading business thinkers. It has a 5 star rating on Amazon. In 2017 Steve published his highly anticipated second book, The Lessons School Forgot, How to hack your way through the technology revolution.

Peter Davidson

Peter Davidson has confronted fear and beaten it. He was the paramedic who put his own life in danger during the tragic 1998 Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race. In the midst of the worst storm in race history, Peter was lowered from the chopper into the enormous waves to rescue eight sailors.

Peter speaks eloquently on subjects such as leadership, vision, adapting to circumstance, teamwork, persistence and managing risk. Having willingly placed his own life in danger in order to save others he is one of the most inspirational speakers in Australia.
